Party in my mouth

On the other day I was craving for pineapple tart! I wassap my husband asked him to get me the tart nenas from one restaurant in our neighbourhood and you know wut? Less than in 2 minutes he's step in our door, didn't read my wassap text! Wuarghhhh

Since I badly want the tart nenas, I make him went to that restaurant soon after Maghrib prayer. Thanks papa!

Back home, I make myself hot tea and gobble up the tart nenas. ALONE. Bahahaha. So heavenly yummy. I had a party in my mouth!

And yesterday, one of my neighbour ( the only malay neighbour) droped by and handed over her home-made croissant. Masyallah sungguh sedap dan panas-panas! Alhamdulillah rezeki orang mengandung

>Love<

Someone got excited too ;)

Nasi Lemak Mommy

I'm fasting again yesterday. Everytime I was fasting my hubby would say, you don't have to cook dear, I'll buy for you the food. Hurmmm

But lately I hate outside food! especially malay food. For western food I still can accept but for malay food, I prefered to cook on my own. It's not that I masak sedap sangat but I know my taste bud well, I know what kind of curry, nasi goreng or nasi lemak I want. When it comes to the food from tapau-ing outside I tend to be very fussy. Nasi ni pedas sangat la, ikan bilis kurang la, tak buang kepala la bla bla bla. In the end my hubby kecik hati kesian dia penat-penat meredah hujan pegi beli bini banyak komplen. Bahahaha.

>_<

Despite of tiredness but more to thirsty (I feel darn hot lately, hormones?) I would rather cook my own dishes for break-fast than buy it. Like yesterday I cooked nasi lemak. Ate with sambal sardin and udang galah (for me and hubby). For Sophie, I prepared grilled chicken for her. She loves nasi lemak too, berselera sungguh makan. Almost everyday she ate porridge kesian jugak kan so ocassionally we gave her nasi lemak la

and for the sahur on a night before, I cooked nasi goreng planta with scramble egg and happened ada orang tu terliur ikut makan sahur sama but in the end he's not fasting pun. Cehh

Ok bye!

Puasa ganti marathon

Salam all

Ok for the record, I owed 10 days of last year puasa. 2 down and still got 8 days to go! uwarghh

Since our Ramadhan this year is just around the corner, I've to ganti puasa marathon for selang satu hari. Nak puasa hari-hari macam tak larat je. For my break-fast on the other day I cooked kuew teow goreng and bubur pulut hitam. Both tastes so good. Bahahaha

I'm not a good chef but love to cook and always willing to learn. Here I want to share these two blogs with you guys for a good and confirm-jadi-recipe. Insyallah. Everytime the end result mesti jadi dan sedap, so for now I just rely to these two blogs for recipe

For those who yet ganti puasa, cepat-cepat pejam celik je bulan pose datang and tahniah for those yang dah complete bayar hutang

>_<

Till then!

Lazy Thursday with pizza & bottles

Woke up yesterday morning with a water running on the tap but yang terindah hanyalah sementara, the water stop running at 10am. Huhhh, no way to cook since lately I start experienced the backache and easily fatique

I only cooked for Sophie yesterday. Porridge with chicken (shredded) and cabbage. She's in a good appetite nowdays, makan je kerja, pulak tu pandai mencari sendiri kalau lapar. She will go near to the dining table and whining for food in her own language, which is only mommy can understand. Rice is a must everyday, in between must have snacks like cracker, raisins, grape, apple or hashbrown. But forget these two, bread and egg! She refuse to consume, maybe dah bosan kut. Alahai cepatnya bosan belum masuk 2 yo pon sayang. Bahahaha

For my lunch I ordered Dominos Pizza. I opted for half portion for each 2 pizzas make it 4 flavors. Plain cheese, prawn, papperoni and extravaganza. Not to forget one desert for Sophie, Banana kaya desert is her favourite and papa too. We save the last 2 pieces for papa since he's the one who paid for this meal and few slices pizza for him as a rasuah, today is a pay day?

>_<

Lazy-ing for the all day doesn't meant doing nothing. I did the laundry early in the morning, hanged the clothes and boiled Sophie's bottles. I'm old fashioned mom when come to this thing. I way prefer to boil it rather than using sterelise tablet. I used that when Sophie was a baby up to 5 months but not satisfied with the end result, it makes my bottles and teats not clear, macam kusam je. Macam tak bersih but I believe it's completely sterelise just I prefered the appearence too. HIHI. So I say good bye to the tablet and just boil the bottle, surprisingly it turns good. Shining, clear and looks very clean. Gahh, that's what I need, shining like new

tata, till then readers!

Malam minggu with new pants

On Friday night we catched up some dinner at San Francisco Pizza. I chose Aglio Olio and mushroom soup whilst hubby opted for chicken chop and chicken nugget for Sophie

Eventhough the taste just so-so but we love to dine here as no crowd. Banyak meja kosong and there are only 3 meja je ada orang but it's soooo good for those yang ada anak. Nak menjerit ke nak berlari ke takde yang menjeling..hahaha

Last week I bought some new printed pants from House of Bubblegum (Australian brand) at Fashion Valet.

It's very comfortable and suit either for lounging in your couch watching tv or run some errands outside. Just don't wear these to the office unless you work in theme park. Bahahaha kidding!

So I paired this Moroccon Jenny Pants with white shirt, light wash denim jacket and mustard shawl

It so perfecto for growing tummy too which I'm pretty sure it would last till my end final trimester

*Pheww*

Another casual Monday

My door bell rang when I was in the kitchen this afternoon. Mr. DHL standing there with my parcel. Baju raya for Sophie! Not too early I think as I'm gonna concentrate on new baby's preparation after this. So, 4 baju raya for Sophie are settled

For lunch today I cooked fish soup and sotong goreng. That's all and char kuew teow for dinner. One new thing I've learned from the other blog in order to get a umphhh char kuew teow is by using big flame. Real big and here the result. My hubby kata sedap

>_<

and ohh ya today, 7th April Sophie is 20 months. Another 4 months to 2!

Muahhhh

Mommy's cook & Olaf

Salam all,

For this week, I want to try fully cook at home until Friday. Agak2 boleh tak tahan lagi sehari? Exception for weekend must eat outside. Mommy want olio ;) Olio kat Manhattan Fish Market sooo tempting

Tak semua yang dimasak sempat snap pictures. Kekadang malas, kekadang lupe gitulah orang dah tak berapa muda nih. Hari Isnin masak masakan melayu. Daging goreng, sup daging dan kailan goreng belacan (no photos)

Hari Selasa masak western using daging again since my Mr. Grocer (a.k.a hubby) bought too much beef so kena habiskan stok sebelum expiry date. Masaklah steak together with baked beans and potato. For the potato I prefer steam dulu baru goreng. The taste sangatla sedap

Basic marinate: Salt, pepper, olive oil and steak spice lepas tu baru taruk BBQ sauce just before grill

This is medium cook steak tapi tak boleh makan selalu since I'm preggy

I used this Heinz BBQ sauce for marinade

Tapi takyah letak banyakla nanti tak sedap and I'm not prefer to use this as a dip sauce. The taste is more suit for marinade saja at least for my taste bud la. The home made sauce way better. Me myself pon baru nak belajar buat, dah jumpe resepi. Maybe next week can try!

On Wednesday, I teringin nak makan ayam. So buatla grilled chicken ni. Bahan marinate for this as same as I marinated the beef just tambah paprika je. Last time buat my sister Azi kata macam goreng pisang. Bahahaha ada ke patut. Kesian tau!

Malam as requested by hubby, I cooked nasi beriani daging dengan kari ayam simple. Simple sebab takde potato. Just chicken. Potato pon dah habis

Hari Khamis barang dapur slowly dah habis. Daging batang pinang ada lagi tapi mak dah penatla makan daging

Telur masak kicap is just perfecto makan dengan nasi panas berulam bendi and terung. Chicken curry from last nite dinner pon still ada lagi.

Kat luar pulak hujan. Alhamdulillah diatas nikmat berganda dari Allah SWT

In the afternoon habis masak duduk lepak depan TV watching Frozen with Sophie sambil lipat kain. Mom's work around the clock kan. The word ' sambil' mesti ada everytime describe tengah buat apa

Btw, suka sangat Sophie dengan Olaf (the snow man) until she gigle everytime Olaf come out

Olaf is so adorable kan. and cheeky!

For Friday, there's a possibility I'll call for pizza delivery. Bahahhaaha

>_<

Hope you guys have a nice day at work place or at home for housewives like me. Esok Jumaat suka la kan

* Where's on earth MH370? Day-13 *

Lunch box

I'm not a good cooker but I'm always try my level best to cater my small family

Sophie is grown up and she started eat like we adult eat. Just I reduce a sugar and salt intake in her portion and sometimes 'redha' with a bland food. Bahaha

Yesterday for lunch I prepared some grilled chicken with side dishes and put in the container. I got the container from tapau-ing at Octopus Japanese and Thai restaurant and turned it to my lunch box

I marinated the chicken with salt, sugar, paprika, turmeric powder and olive oil for 2 hours before grill it using magic pan. I grill some capcicum and peas too. For baked beans, I just reheat in the stove. I choose to fry the potato and it's nearly burnt. Pheww

Sophie ate it all together with mommy except for capcicum

>_<

Dine with Mr. Salmon

We had a salmon for our dinner last night and I get the recipe from the internet. Goreng tohor (in english? no idea..muahaha) and make a simple lemon dressing. Like all fish, it goes well with citrus flavors.

Yummy easy and simple!

Sorry, dah makan separuh baru snap pic!
Gonna make salmon as our staple food. Now let us see the benefits of salmon

Salmon Nutrition

Salmon is a highly nutritious food. Of course, it is high in protein, and the “good fats." But did you know that a 4 oz serving of wild salmon provides a full day’s requirement of vitamin D? It is one of the few foods that can make that claim. That same piece of fish contains over half of the necessary B12, niacin, and selenium, and is an excellent source of B6 and magnesium. Canned salmon also contains large amounts of calcium (due to the bones of the fish).

Health Benefits of Salmon

People who eat fish seem to be protected from a host of conditions. Some of this is probably due to the omega-3 fats, but there may be other benefits apart from this. The science isn’t clear yet as to all the reasons why eating fish (particularly fatty fish such as salmon) seems to be so darned good for us.

Omega-3 fats seem to primarily work through reducing inflammation in our bodies. Inflammation is turning out to be at the base of many health problems, including heart disease, diabetes, some types of cancers and arthritis. Omega-3’s also help prevent the blood clots which cause many strokes. An exciting, fairly recent development is the realization that omega-3 fats have potential to help slow cognitive problems such as Alzheimer’s disease and age-related cognitive decline. Also, people who have sufficient levels of omega-3’s (especially as compared to omega-6 fats) seem to have less depression and suicide risk, as well as less aggression -- in one study, giving prison inmates this type of fat (plus vitamins) reduced aggressive behavior by a third in a mere two weeks.

Till then!

Love.

She's Happily Eating

Remember my last post narrating how fussy-Sophie refuse to eat? Well, after consulting my big sister, my cousin and my aunt, I were advised to feed Sophie with cereal.

So, last weekend my hubby and I went to Cold Storage looking for the cereal. We were read almost all the items in the shelf as we have no idea what to buy.Muahaha. Finally we came back home with this

Alhamdulillah, now she's happily eating especially the one in the jar (Heinz).

She just don't like mommy's cook
pandai ye!

After a week, we gave her juice and she's really like it..but I've read in magazine for not give to your young baby more than 4 auns in a day if not they will encounter with diorrhea

But the downside of a ready-to-eat food is must to be consumed within 48 hours. So, I put this memo on my fridge to remind me the expiry date.

By the way, there's no photo for feeding session as she's cannot duduk diam at all ;)

Her First Solid Food

Last week I start gave Sophie a try of a solid food.

Day 1: Carrot Puree
Day 2: Rice Porridge

Let me share how to cook your home-made carrot puree

Ingredients

carrots, peeled and chopped

Method

Put the carrots into a steamer set over boiling water and cook for 15 to 20 minutes until tender. Alternatively put the carrots in a saucepan and pour over just enough boiling water to cover. Cover with a lid and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes until soft.

Drain the carrots and place in a blender, adding some of the water from the bottom of the steamer or some of the cooking liquid, then puree until very smooth.

The amount of liquid you add really depends on your baby, you may need to add a little more if he finds the puree difficult to swallow.

Spoon some of the puree into your baby’s bowl and serve lukewarm. You can freeze the remainder in an ice cube tray or small plastic containers.

But give her a try is not easy mannn..she even cannot sit still and throw a tantrum.

She dont want to eat..uwaaaa. Same with the rice porridge..she rejected with her tongue.

Now I'm give up. It looks like I have to try any other solution. Eventhough a can/process food is my last resort but it looks like I have no choice huh

Wuarghhhh
(Yes, mommy is crying)

My Breakfast

This is what I always have for my weekdays breakfast. Healty, fussy-less, easy and faster!

Whole meal bread and Scramble egg mixed with tomato and jazz up with Coffee to start my looong day with Lil Sophie
